Event Details

Celebrate Lunar New Year with internationally acclaimed dancer & cultural educator Wendi Weng and percussionist Chris Howard! The Silk Road was one of history’s great trade routes. It connected more than forty countries from China to Türkiye. This performance invites you to explore the Silk Road’s legacy through rhythm and movement. Featuring percussion instruments once traded along the route and dances that blossomed through cultural exchange, this workshop highlights the rich traditions of China, Persia, Türkiye, and Egypt. Join us on a journey that celebrates the Silk Road’s enduring spirit of connection, diversity, and shared creativity. Note: Registration for this program will open on Tuesday January 13, 2026 at 9:30 a.m.
