AARP Smart Driver Course

This 6-hour course for those age 50 and up qualifies licensed drivers to receive a reduction of up to four points on their driver’s license or a 10% deduction on collision and liability auto insurance rates for a period of three years.  Some insurance companies give both benefits.  Certificates of completion will be mailed within a month after completion of the class. 

A $30 fee ($25 with proof of AARP membership) must be paid by check to the instructor before class.  Checks should be made payable to AARP.

Attendees should arrive before 9:45 to avoid losing their place. Standbys will be admitted to fill any seats not yet claimed and paid for when the class begins. Latecomers will not be admitted.

Receipt of Certificate:
Should you have any issues in the receipt of your certificate after taking part in this two-day course, please contact AARP directly at the following number and speak with one of their representatives.:

Neither Emma S. Clark Library staff nor the AARP volunteer instructor retain the information necessary to resolve individual certificate disputes.

We'll learn songs, rhymes, and finger plays.

Clark Library is host to one or more Social Work Interns from the Masters of Social Work Program at Stony Brook University who are training to become Licensed Clinical Social Workers. These individuals will be on-site to answer questions from our community, help them fill out forms, or provide referrals on topics such as:

• Housing
• Applying for benefits
• LGBTQIA+ topics
• Medical Assistance
• Mental Health Issues
• Substance use
• Care Coordination
• Childcare Services

In this beginner class, we’ll learn how to use Cricut Design Space and create a stylish and personalized tote bag. All materials provided. Taught by Librarian Brieanne Kocka. [Tech Center]

TECH CLASS: PC Cleanup

Have a PC laptop? Bring it with you and learn how to clean and speed it up. If you don't have one, don't worry, you can use ours to learn. This class is specifically tailored for PCs and not applicable to Mac systems. Taught by Tech Librarian Jen Mullen [LOCATION: TECHNOLOGY CENTER - LOWER LEVEL]

Master your browser - how to export/import bookmarks and history - or sync your browser to your email which syncs to all computers, manage passwords, manage bookmarks bar to organize shortcuts and multiple tabs, Chrome, Explorer, Firefox.
